The FatraPad mechanically fixed insulated cold store roof panel refurbishment system provides a none-penetrative mechanically fixed waterproofing system that provides superior aesthetics and drastically reduces the amount of wind flutter the membrane is exposed to compared to traditional lap fastened systems. The Fatra ribbed profile roof panel system implements a layer of insulation between the profiles in the roof panel with an additional layer of insulation installed over the top to create a consistent flat surface for the Fatra PVC membrane system.
A full assessment by a Fatra Australia representative is require to assess the condition of the existing roof panel to establish what preparation maybe required such as rust repair, air sealing and other factors that will achieve the best possible performance. A structural assessment maybe required to be carried out by an approved and certified structural engineer to ensure the roof panel and structure are able to carry the additional weight of the Fatra system.
Unlike liquid applied membranes, the Fatrafol 810v is unaffected by substrate moisture and inclement weather conditions during installation which can cause the membrane to delaminate and defect prematurely. All joints, laps and terminations are hot air fusion welded creating a permanent and physical bond and does not rely on adhesives sealants or tapes to create a waterproofed joint.
Insulated roof panels are constantly exposed to excessive structural movement, the Fatrafol PVC membrane has the ability to move with the roof panels without causing the membrane to shear and tear unlike liquid applied systems which fail along the joints of the roof panel causing water to be absorbed in the roof panel core and potentially the internal building envelope.
The Fatrafol 810v reinforced membrane is installed over the PIR insulation. The Fatrafol 810v is bonded to Fatra Australia’s uniquely engineered Fatrapad system where the membrane is fused to the fixing system creating a none penetrative mechanically fixed system.
The PIR insulation is installed between the rib profiles with a second layer installed above to create a flat surface. This is mechanically fixed using the approved fixings, telescopic tubes and PVC pads to secure the system to the roof panel in accordance with AS1170 Part 2.
